Getting to Know You
Posted on 08. May, 2007 by Brian Reid in General
I have to be honest: it’s been nearly five years, and I really don’t know you — the readers — all that well (other than you, Dayv. And Tim and Pete. And Keith. And some of the commenters).
[EDIT: After receiving a few e-mails and comments wondering about the personal information in the ready survey -- and the apparent inability to opt-out of those questions -- I've taken down the link to the survey. As always, you're more than welcome to e-mail me an introduction or just start commenting. Apologies.]

Funny how they assume that if you were referred from a parenthood blog then you must have at least one kid.
I’m sure I must not be the only childless reader obsessed with family/parenting blogs.

Funny how this is to ‘get to know us’ but a question on how much I spend on books, etc. is compulsory.
Also, it’s very US-centric (zipcode, list of religions, etc).
So, not to deprive you of your readership info…
Hi, I’m Phil, I’m 36 with a daughter who’s 7 weeks tomorrow. I’m working and my wife’s on maternity leave. Pleased to meet you.

I have to say the survey does seem like a little more than a getting to know me survey.
Are you looking to figure out the demos for advertisers? Not that I care if do so.
If you would like to know more, read a bit of my blog. It won’t take you long to figure out that I’m a full time parent to a three year old girl and a 19 month old young man, that was born three months pre-mature, and I can’t wait for Saturday to come around.

I tried to take the survey, but it would not let me NOT answer the household income question. That’s one question we, in this household, never answer for any survey except the compulsory government questions. Anyway, thanks for your blog Brian.

I’ll forgive you if you want to try again.
I visit regularly just to see what’s happening from your POV.
2 kids, 2 dogs, 1 vasectomy, 1 blog, 1 Mac computer, 10 years married (almost). Not yet 40 yrs old but getting close. BA in physics; teacher by trade; SAHD by circumstance and choice — and yes it’s a cause of marital friction now and then.
