Getting Even More Social
Posted on 04. Dec, 2007 by Brian Reid in General
It’s now a monthly occurrence: a new “social networking” site shows up aimed at parents, or, more specifically, dads. The latest (still in beta) is Parentricity, which seems to have a vibrant — and dad-friendly — community lined up.

So my brother gets married, he’s got a good job gets laid off, wifey poo makes $70,000 + a year, they have a bun in the oven on the way. She decides to have my brother become a “stay at home dad” saving them $1,000 a month in child care. It was her idea to go into a 5 year plan where he would stay home and raise their little girl….. She has the high paying Job in Las Vegas as a director for Olive Crest a center for abused children
Here we are at the 4 year mark their little girl just turned 4, plus two 2 year old twins….My brother has had NO HELP from her for relief, he’s been taking care of and raising his kids for sometimes 16 hours a day, she never comes home and has started to accuse him of being lazy, a “Freeloader” and not wanting to work… She broke her 5 year plan at the 4 year mark, and she now wants a divorce… they are in court — So much for being a stay at home dad

Yeah.. it’s weird.. when a fight gets bad you start to wonder what you could do.. you know the courts would favor the mom for custody.. you know you’d be the one that would “deserve” custody.. and how they heck could you survive as a single parent… bummer.

Dude, that story is a tough one. On a side note…Parentricity looks pretty darn cool. Thanks.
